About The Author
Baukowski celebrated his greatest successes in the eighties. But the higher you climb, the harder you fall. The battered writer knows the business with all its ups and downs. Since his first publication, his critics have accused him of sexism, chauvinism and misogyny. His infamous media appearances, his public debaucheries and notorious comedowns were grist for the mills of the skeptics. Meanwhile, the Enfant Terrible has settled down at Redrum and feels at home between all the freethinkers, provocateurs and dissenters. Baukowski has created his own universe with his cult characters such as the sexually disoriented Wiesel or the dissocial Udo. In this universe he writes authentically about his alcoholic and sexual excesses. But Baukowski is more than that. He writes with hard, straightforward words free from any conventions of genre. His stories always tend to extremes, they are sometimes crude, often vulgar, sometimes even poetic, often uncompromisingly brutal. But they all have one thing in common: a winking, pitch-black humor.
